Funke Akindele rides bicycle to church
Star actress, Funke Akindele rode a bicycle to church on Sunday due to the fuel crisis in the country. This is according to her post on the social media. Nigeria has been brought to a virtual standstill by fuel shortages, caused by a row between the outgoing government and importers, as well as strikes by petrol tanker drivers and oil and gas workers. Despite being Africa’s biggest oil producer, petroleum products have to be imported to Nigeria because of a lack of functioning domestic refineries. The government keeps the price at the pumps below the market rate for consumers and pays the difference to importers and marketers. But they say they are owed $2 billion in arrears and have shut fuel depots until the balance is paid. The government maintains the money has been paid and the importers are holding the country to ransom by demanding losses from the slump in the naira currency caused by the global drop in oil prices.
103 year old identical twins die within weeks of each other
After living most of their lives together, Gleyns Thomas and Florence Davies, reportedly the world's oldest twin sisters, passed away within weeks of each other. Thomas died on April 23, according to The Telegraph, and her heartbroken sister passed away less than a month later on May 20.

A Texas family of four were swept away by severe flood waters with only the father being able to escape. The victim's family has come to accept the likely outcome. VPC A tornado tore through a Central Texas town Monday, destroying four homes and leaving at least one person dead. Milam County Judge Dave Barkemeyer says the storm hit a subdivision about 60 miles northeast of Austin. Barkemeyer says the man died when his mobile home was destroyed and that four other people were injured. No identities have been released. The latest tragedy comes as 12 people remain missing after the vacation home they were staying was swept away in the deadly floods that hit the region over the Memorial Day Weekend . 'Mommy, mommy': Chilling last words of 14 year old boy executed at point blank A baby-faced Bronx teenager was executed on the streets of NY on Friday May 23rd by a gunman wearing a red bandana who blasted him multiple times at point-blank range without any warning. 14 year old Christopher Duran (pictured) was fatally shot outside his apartment building while on his way to school with his younger brother. This shooting took place in the Bronx, New York and police are searching for the gunman.

Jonathan, VP Sambo, ministers to travel abroad after May 29 According to a report by Punch , President Jonathan, VP Namadi Sambo and many ministers will travel out of the country shortly after the May 29 inauguration of a new government. Jonathan is supposedly traveling abroad for what he calls 'a much deserved rest' while Sambo is planning to travel to London on May 31, two days after the inauguration of Buhari to also rest.
