The US supply ship is expected to refuel other American warships, including the USS Carl Vinson strike group, currently in the region.  Japan's defense ministry only says the Izumo left to eventually participate in an international naval event in Singapore on May 15.  It came after the US Embassy in Seoul confirmed reports America's CIA director was making an unannounced visit to South Korea, amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula....

The son of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield faces a one-game suspension from Georgia's football team after his arrest on misdemeanor marijuana charges. An online booking report from the Clarke County Jail shows sophomore running back Elijah Holyfield was charged early Monday with possession of marijuana of less than an ounce and possession and use of drug related objects, He was arrested by university police and released on bond less than an hour later. A team spokesman says coach Kirby Smart is aware of the arrest. Under Georgia's drug and alcohol policy, Holyfield would be suspended one game for a first violation. Georgia opens against Appalachian State on Sept. 2. Holyfield rushed for 29 yards on six carries as a freshman and will contest for playing time at one of the deepest positions on the team. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel are Georgia's top running backs.

US rapper Eminem is suing New Zealand’s ruling National Party for breach of copyright, claiming the song they used during their 2014 election campaign bears a striking resemblance to his 2002 hit Lose Yourself. The award-winning hit, which featured in the movie   8 Mile , was played for a judge and group of lawyers in a Wellington courtroom on Monday, as the legal battle between the rapper and the National Party got underway. Eminem’s publisher, Eight-Mile Style, is suing the party for alleged breach of copyright. Counsel for the plaintiff Gary Williams told the High Court that the academy award winning hit is   “without doubt the jewel in the crown of Eminem’s musical work,” according   to the New Zealand Herald.  “The licensing of the song has been extremely carefully controlled. Police in London say they have foiled a second active terror plot in 24 hours, after arresting six people in raids across the British capital and southeast England. A woman shot by police in the latest counterterrorism investigation remains in a serious but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing but the threat is "contained," London's Metropolitan Police said Friday. Police said the operation late Thursday night was not related to an  earlier arrest near the British parliament,  where officers detained a man armed with knives on suspicion of planning a terror attack, in what Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu described as "an extraordinary day" in London. "Due to these arrests that we have made, I believe that we have contained the threats that they posed," he said. Deep respect for leaders is a pillar of the culture of the Yoruba people, one of Nigeria’s biggest ethnic groups. But at a recent public event, the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, 74, refused to properly greet the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, 42. As the Ooni leaned over to greet the Oba by shaking his hand, what he got instead was a dismissive wave and what looked like a scowl of disdain. It’s quite unheard of for traditional leaders to rebuff each other in public. And for a lesser leader, like the Oba of Lagos, to rebuff the Ooni of Ife, the spiritual head of all Yoruba people, is an even graver offence. Though there are various interpretations by historians and scholars on the origins of Yoruba people, the Ooni of Ife is widely acknowledged as the overall leader and is known as the “king of kings”. The Oba – of which there are up to 50 in Lagos alone – is seen to be a lesser traditional ruler, even though he is older. It is not clear yet what upset the Oba of Lagos....
